Door/Window Jambs

When placing a door or window in a wall with the frame tight to an interesecting wall a segment of the 2nd wall "disappears". I am sure it has to do with a display setting somewhere but have not been able to find it . . . can someone steer me in the right direction?

Is this the result youre looking for?The only thing is that youll get this effect on all your doors in the drawing.

We had already tried your suggestion but that is not the result we are looking for.

What we are looking for is to have the "missing" segment of the wall continue through similar to what a typical jamb would look like . . . see attachment.
