Am I missing something here.... I cant figure out how to contrain text or a label to a certain basepoint location. I have a firedamper that I have been messing with, I make a L shape symbol in the duct accesory damper which is not annotative but rather stretches with the duct width and make a label sith the letters "FD". Problem is when the scales are changed the letters go all over the place as I cannot set a constraint or create a lookup table to set the distance for the symbol at each scale. Am I missing something???
thnx

You can try making the FD a nested symbol within the family. You can then constrain the symbols origin in relation to the damper. Just remember that symbols scale in relation to their origin.

I ended up getting it to work ok. In 09 the label will not stay readable, but the same family in 2010 mirrors correctly, its strange. must be a bug they fixed in 2010. Thanks tho.
