I seem to remember a comment or advert about a cad programme to use on handhelds/PDA's. It claimed to be able to take a DWG drawing transfer it to the PDA so it could be taken to site and modifications carried out. Any pointers or was I just having a nice dream?

Hi Charlie

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the AutoCAD General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=120) Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

I have used pocketcad. You convert the drawing, put it on your pda, make changes, come back to the desktop and convert it back.

Have you used something like this on a pda before? Because, while it is marginally better than paper, now that my pda has died ~bows head for a moment of silence~ I don't think I want to get another one. I am asking for a tablet pc, which can run regular autocad. The pda screen is far to small, and you have to buy top of the line in order to get enough speed and memory. A top of the line might be 800 or $900, versus $2,000 for a tablet, but, the aggravation of working on a tiny screen would make up the difference.

just my $0.02, hth.

  I'll miss her...

here's a thread where I was asking for advice about convertible tablets in the hardware forum (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=8152&highlight=tablet).
