I was wondering if there were any tutorials that can show me the basics of making my own window/door/family type.

I have some complex exterior window trim (well complex for me), and I also have a granite sill I woud like to represent in the model but I can't figure out how to implement it.

Possibly two seperate wall types?

Here is a pic.

Thanks for any info...

adam, the sill is a bunny, I would like to say first of all that I would use the windows that come with revit and modify accordingly. You will add a sweep to the sill in the window family of any profile that you want then just give it a path. As for the head I would think that you would have to model it and then insert it into the window family that has your sill in it. hope that helps. As for tutorials this website is great http://www.caddigest.com/subjects/revit/tutorials.htm

Hi Adam,

Although there is a fee involved, I found http://cadclips.com to be good value for video tutorials when I was first starting out.

Nevertheless, get into the family editor and start mucking about. I found that by having a go and creating, what were, pretty awful families in retrospect, the simple act of doing was the best tutorial of all.

Best of luck
