i would like to have profile views at multiple scales in one drawing.
example tab1 would have contract drawings at 60 scale
tab 2 would have construction drawings at 40 scale
is this possible?

Yes. Because in Model Space you have your profile drawn 1:1. Now if you're wanting different Vertical exageration t don't think so.

but the title information is retrived from what model space is set as, as well as the annotioan value for any labels on the scale
they are independent of viewport scale.
this is causing my issues

Your annotation an viewport scale should be the same. If you have a piece of text calling out the scale of your profile than that is in the style for the profile view.

heres an example
i have 2 profile views 1@ 40, 1 @ 60
i go into model space to work on somehting else, i set the annotation scale at lets say 10
i go to the tab with my 40scale vport, its saying its at 1=10 horiz, the vport is at 40, both annnotation and scale, the labels are scaled as if it was 10 also
i go to the tab with my 60scale vport, its saying its at 1=10 horiz, the vport is at 60, both annnotation and scale, the labels are scaled as if it was 10 also

Are the viewports locked? And did you regen inside them?

yep locked, i didn't regen, all i did was switch to paper from model
occasionally the items will be the correct size, but the title is still based on the model space annotation scale setting

Is this scale label possibly a field? Can you post the drawing?

@ Grandocadguy - You can have different vertical exagerations, you just need to create two different profile views, each one assigned a different style.
@ Roger - The titel information is a part of the profile view style and will plot at whatever height is shown in the style. Different viewports at different scales, the text will plot the same. In the top viewport, the scale is 1:100. In the bottom profile view, it's 1:40. Two different profile views but they are using the same style.

Yes that part I know. I thought he was trying to get two scales from the same view. Sounds like he's shaving some text scaling issues though.

it is most likely a field as its the default
its too big to post
but this is the title anotation
<[Parent Alignment(CP)]>
H: 1"=<[Drawing Scale(P0|RN|AP|OF)]>
V: 1"=<[Graph View Vertical Scale(P0|RN|AP|OF)]>
there are few options for this item

the test scaling seems to be working properly now, its the label field thats causing the issues
i didnt create the styles, but im trying to fix them :)

I believe that references the drawing (MS) scale. You'd want something that references the viewport scale.

Ah! I get it! This is what you are seeing. It's not the SIZE of the label...

I think you're stuck doing it manually. Unfortunately, you can't put expressions into the label portion of a profile view style (at least not that I've been able to find).

what good is autoing it to the drawing scale?

We don't have that in our templates...... Did Autodesk do it or whoever created your template?

i think it was copied from the default

Playing around with it a bit, you can put an expression in a profile view label that gets the viewscale and then another expression that gets the viewscale/10. I this image, two viewports, different scales, same profile view and same label:

Here you go. It's a profile view station/elevation label.

hhhmmm, question
the code for the horizontal scale says
{179a3c60cf494a632c6d0a96f542276fscale conversion}
it wont work when i copy it into my drawing

You must copy the expressions into your drawing and then add the appropriate callouts in the label.

thats what i did, but that expression throws an error, is it correct?

Yup. Something seems to have gotten lost in translation. Basically, the Horizontal Scale expression should be
{Drawing Scale Conversion} and the Vertical Scale expression shoule be
{Horizontal Scale}/10
