$Audit and Purge in 2009

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
After I Audit the drawing I get the message that it fixed all problems. just to make sure I Audit it again and get no Errors; then I purge and clear all items and I get the message that "PURGE Purged $AUDIT-BAD-LAYER."

If after that I try to Audit again, it finds all the Errors again.

Does this means it never really got rid of the Errors in the drawing? or is it a glitch and can be fixed?

Any information regarding this issue will be helpful.

If you have any xrefs attached check those as well.

Try coping all objects with a base point of 0,0 then pasting them into a new drawing. This command is under the edit menu.
