Is there a way to create a custom callout block? I have set up a sheet set with resource drawings that have views, but when I insert the view to a layout it inserts the block and asks for the information, when I saw Lynn Allen at CAD Camp Tuesday I thought that she had the callout block reference the view name. Thanks for any help.

In your sheet set properties, there is a place to tell it were all your callouts are. Then you should be able to click on a view in the sheet set manager and select a callout for it. If you have the fields set up correctly, they should automatically be filled out with the information.

I've seen the area for that property, but I'm not sure how to set up the block, so that the feilds work.
Thanks

I haven't messed with them much, so I'm not exactly sure either. The easiest way I can think of is to take the default callouts and modify them.

I found a some info on the autodesk web site

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=4247094&linkID=2475176

It seems to to do the trick, but I guess that you cannot bring the view into Paperspace in the current drawing without it saying *(2) because it creates a new view, but thats not too much of a problem I can alway rename the view,

One other thing to remember here is that when you create the attribute test set the mode to Preset. This will suppress the questions for the information, which will automatically fill in. I noticed that the white paper does not mention this.

If you dig deep enough... (Hint HInt ADESK)... you can find

C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2005\R16.1\enu\Template

which has a few pre built blocks with fields already set up.
