Okay so I work all day to modify the conduit sizes in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ACD-MEP 2008\enu\Aecb Catalogs\Global\Conduit folder... and can't figure out how to make the Annotation correct... in other words... if it is 1/2" EMT I would like its diameter to be 0.706" and its label to read 1/2".... does anyone know how to get this to happen? I don't really mind that it reads weird in the in the add conduit dialog box but if I could get that to read correctly it would be gravy!

Yeah, I would like that too.

I think the only way to do that would be to attach a PSD that provided the correct trade size and change the label style to use that PSD.

I looked into doing the same thing with ABS 2007 and it was a bunch of monkeying around. If I remember correctly, seems like you had to change a setting for the bent conduit as well.

In the mean time, I never got back to fixing it and found that for most practical purposes, just use one size larger conduit, i.e. for 2" (2.375 od) I would use a 2-1/2" conduit. It's not effective if you're using MEP to create conduit tags, but the bends end up being fairly realistic, and from a conservative standpoint, if it fits in the model, it almost always fits in the real world.

Looks like there is a pole on Augi trying to nudge Autodesk into creating real world sizes. Let's keep our fingers crossed...
