I don't want to play telephone, I just want to know... Is the new AutoCAD release (presumably 2006) going to have a different file format from 2004/2005 and the same file extension i.e. .dwg??

I suggest you speak directly with Autodesk on that matter, *only* they can tell you for sure....

People that are part of the Alpha / Beta Autodesk Testing Program shouldn't tell you as they would've signed a Confidentially (Non-Disclosure) Agreement.
