View Full Version : Shp files come in as rectangles

I am trying to connect to some shp files, that say the contain elev. data. It comes in as rectangles with no data. What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like it is point type file, the rectangle/square is just the marker used to display it. What are you needing to do with them after you get them into Map3D.

I am trying to get some elevation data in to my drawing. Everything seems to come in ok until I try the elevation data. It shows up as triangles

What version of Map3D and can you post the shp files(s)?

That's not a shp file format, you need to use the Map Import command not data connect with that and select the SDTS format.

Also you better have a powerful workstation. There's 1,567,464 points in that file that takes up a lot of memory. My 32 bit Vista 2 Gb Ram choked on it, the Win 7 64 bit with 8 Gb ram does import but the zoom/pan/regen takes a bit of time.

That looks like it's just the index map to the dem files or image files.
