Summary: When opening a file that was created in a previous version, Revit should first provide a modal message box prompting the user to accept, or cancel, the upgrade.
Description: When opening a file that was created in a previous version, Revit should first provide a modal message box prompting the user to accept, or cancel, the upgrade.
How Used: As structural consultants, we have to use the same Revit version as our clients. Some of them may not have upgraded to the latest version, yet. In-house, a user might be using the latest version, and simply File/Open the RVT file. If it's a large project, they're looking at 5-10 minutes while be project is upgraded before they can exit and re-open the file with an earlier Revit version.
