Not sure where to put this, but it is related to MEP. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro which has the capability of taking 3D dwg files and creating 3D PDFs. I can get the 3d models in acrobat just fine, however the items in acrobat no longer have any of the data attached to them. From watching the demo I should be able to bring over properties of the objects. Has anyone had any luck with this?

Ideally I'd like to be able to click on an MvPart or even a block with properties added to it and get info such as: Model, manufacturer, price, etc... Is there a way to transfer any data from MEP to Adobe, even pipe size, elevation.

Here is the link to adobe's video:

Thanks

Why not use a 3D DWF? DWF can be directly configured in the Publish dialog to attach desired PSD.

We wanted to use PDF format since it's a more universal file format, most already have Adobe Reader installed. Anyone can view it without having to install additional software.

Anyone can view it without having to install additional software. That's untrue. You need to have the Reader installed (or some other PDF viewer.)

Also, DWF support is built into Vista and Windows 7.

Regardless of that, I don't think you can do what you desire with a 3D PDF, which is why I mentioned the 3D DWF.

I just assumed most would likely have a PDF viewer already installed.

However, I didn't know Vista and 7 supported dwf.... With dwf files are all of the property data of objects remains intact and accessible?

How can control whether properties are attached? I made a dwf file from Autocad MEP '09 but it doesn't look like any properties came with the pipe, I'm looking at the "Object Properties" and it's says "None Available" with an object selected/highlighted.

Also is there a way to attach links to objects in a dwf? I'm running XP so I have Autodesk Design Review.

Thanks for the help.

I tried going to AEC DWF Publishing Options in the <File> menu and Adding everything and checking " Publish Property Set Data" and "Publish all automatic properties" still didn't seem to work. I added all extended data in the properties too.
