I received a pdf file that has a layout that I need to use as a basis for configuring a machine. I captured the screen and saved the portion that I need as a bmp file. I then created a part (ipt) and inserted the image (bmp) into a sketch. I then scaled the image so that it is at correct the proportion. I then created an assembly (iam) and inserted the part file with the image and then inserted several models (iam) and located them around the image. This works fine. I then created a drawing (idw) to print this layout and the image does not show up in the drawing. All of the models that were inserted do. How can I make the image appear in the drawing?

We do this same thing all the time. The thing to do is to have a face on a part that you can emboss the image onto. Once you have that, then the image can be shown in drawings. You will have to use a shaded view style.

Good luck
