Insulation Display Properties

Did some due diligence and ran a search..............
Here's the deal - I want to know how to control the display properties of insulation, which according to the help file, is an annotation object of some sort. I'd kind of like it transparent if at all possible, and also control the color. I have this one file with two differing representations - one where the insulation is a different color from the pipe and the other where they are the same color - no idea how I did that or even if I did that since I didn't create the original file.

It's all in the display representations. Select a pipe or pipe fitting then right click and select "Edit Object Display". There you can change the colors layers and line types for insulation. You can also have different display representatios for model and plan views, single line and double line...
