RomanS shx font plotting funky

My firm has been using RomanS as a font for years, but only in the last year or so the font plots strange. More specifically, letters with a peak in them (A, W, V, M, etc.) plot with an exaggerated peak. I'm thinking it may have something to do with shx vs. ttf fonts, but don't know enough about it to get any farther than that. I've attached an image of the plotted text. Any ideas?

Aha!! the infamous BatWing font problem

In your plot styles, check the "Line End Style" and "Line Join Style" & try changing it to "Round"
