hatching

I'm having trouble hatching small areas w/ AutoCAD lt 2004 and never have before. I get an error message saying "point is directly on object". Is there a setting I need to change?

are your OSNAPS on?

if you have a wheel mouse. setup the middle button (wheel) to zoom and pan then just zoom in when hatching small areas.
