View Full Version : Annotative scale LOCK option?

Is it possible to somehow LOCK the annotative scales of an object (Block, text, dim) so the Automatic Add Scales option will not effect them?

For example, I have a Drywell block where my grate is 2' dia. circle with "D" label inside and the structure is 8' dia. circle.

We usually show the grate non-center on the drywell and sometimes it needs to be in a specific location based the pipe entry point.

I want to make the Drywell block annotative so I can rotate the grate w/the "D" around (inside) the structure but still keep the "D" aligned with the viewport.

If I make the block annotative I have to make sure it doesn't change in size based on the VP scale and ALWAYS keep the 1:1 scale no matter what.

Is there any way to control this? or is there another way to make an object Aligned with the Viewport without been Annotative?

Thanks,

Sorry no, it's an all or nothing setting. It can be scaled only, or it can be scaled and rotated. Unfortunately you can't set it to be rotated only.

Thank you.
I guess this needs to go on the wish list?

Is there any other way to do this?
Maybe in 2010 with the parametric constrains?

The wish might be a good idea. I don't know about 2010's parametrics, but I don't think they would help. I may be wrong, someone else could better explain.
