won't print multiple?

at home, I have a lexmark x125 (all in one), running with xp home (no sp).

When I print (tried with word 97 and acrobat reader 6.0) it doesn't print multiple copies when I indicate, just one.

What could be causing this?

Other than the drivers not being current nothing readily
jumps out as the cause to this.
In that printers properties, is it set to spool the print job
first and then print?

I haven't tried downloading a new driver, just the one from the install.

I had it set both ways, didn't work either. There were no errors, I'd just tell it to print two copies, the first copy would print and then nothing.
