I am having problems with my wall based plumbing fixture not snapping to the wall. I've had a look at the ones that come with Revit but can't find any differences, I'm obviously missing something simple.
Can someone please have a look at the attached file.

Changed the symbolic line properties to "move with nearby element" and made the rear line a strong reference.
I think its working OK now.

Unfortunately this has not worked.
One thing I have noticed is that the symbolic lines in the revit content don't have the "move with nearby element" and my file that was started with a revit family template does. :?

Its working in my files.
Try it in a new blank file. Maybe theres a problem with the one you're trying it in ?

I must be having a bad day. I have loaded a standard revit template, and loaded in the family you made (downloaded from above), but no good.
I've even taken the time to download and install the latest version just to make sure.

I'm attaching one of my files, so you can compare.
The WC is attached to both faces of a variety of wall types, BUT, notice that it sits slightly off the face of the stud wall types !?
Havn't got to the bottom ( so to speak ) of that yet.

I've noticed that the back of the water closet is still not running flush with the wall face even on the thicker wall. Notice on the brick veneer walls that the back of the toilet is buried in the wall. This is the opposite of it sitting slightly off the wall face on the stud walls.
I've re-attached your previous file, but with the addition of the revit toilets that snap perfectly with the walls. If you do a place similar of a revit toilet from a thick wall and place it on a thin wall it hugs the wall properly. Mine don't do that.

Looks like theres a problem with the alignment locks for your wc. Also, there is a mask of lines sitting under the symbolic lines. Try turning that off, or just delete it, then check the locks of the linework and the ref planes.

Chad.. in order to have your family snap on the wall-surface and not a fixed distance to it's core, try his:
In your family add a dimension - on one side fixed to your object and on the other side to the REAL wall surface, so .. not to a reference, [do this through cycling with TABkey]. Either Lock this dimension or make it a -dist from wall- parameter. Now your object should be referenced to your wall surface instead of core.
I haven't got the time to actually look at your file but I hope this tip helps you out.
