I'm trying to figure out how to put a Bill of Materials together for the first time and am looking for some feedback with how others have done this process. Do you generally only need to include the product name, description, and quantity of the product? Or is more information required usually? Thanks for your help in advance.

A Quantity Surveyor will give a more detailed answer.

The standard method of Measument will give the bill rates, regional fluctuations in cost, and ancillaries (Load & cart away, etc)

Or to get software that can utilise the CAD data, and do all the bills automatically, to the latest update (as part of subscription), try this software.
