I frequently work on structural drawings for auto parts plants where the foundations are designed in imperial units and the presses are designed in metric. I'd like to be able to specify distances with whichever system is appropriate, i.e., either 28'3-1/4" or 500mm. As it is, I have to use (/ 500 25.4) at the command line to specify metric distances. How much more convenient to be able to use 500mm or 0.5m directly -- especially in AutoCAD LT which can't even interpret the (/ xxx xxx) syntax. Ideally, any unit of distance in the acad.unt file could be used -- meter, fathom, decameter, nautical mile -- with the appropriate suffix.

We just started and overseas job that will require us to use metric.
For a company that calls itself international, I'm surprised they haven't done this yet
