View Full Version : Target alignments versus overrides

I have a corridor that has a shoulder width that targets a shoulder alignment. However, at one station, I want to override this offset to be a specific width. The override under edit corridor sections does not seem to affect the section. However, if I remove the target, it works fine.

In help, I found this comment: "Note: If you have edited a subassembly by either adding or deleting a point, adding or deleting a link, or editing the subassembly geometry using grips, you cannot edit the values of the changed parameters in the Corridor Section Editor." Does this apply to targets as well? If you have an alignment target for a subassembly, does this mean that you can't edit the subassembly parameter to be a specific width at a specific station?

Yes, I could modify the target alignment, but I'd rather not if the override would work. I could also use regions, but don't want to add regions for a single station as this increases the number of targets that I need to select.

Thoughts?

You are overriding the default value for the subassembly at that station. Since it is targeting something for that value, it isn't using the default value. I'm not sure at this point what an acceptable work around would be.
