anyone know a good place to order replacements for the little handle guards for flat-file cabinets?
I have some old cabinets down in my file room, and some of the metal handles have lost their plastic corner guards, and the edges keep snagging me.
I looked in our office supply book, but, obviously, that would be too convenient...
I have two different kinds, but, here is a shot of one of them...

Hey Melanie!
Do you know the manufacturer of the cabinets? About how old are they? Have you googled yet?

mfgr? no, not really. 3 different styles.
how old? have no idea, some probably older than me, some probably less than 5 years.
can't you just be psychic and tell me what I need to know? ;)

I'm trying....nope...but then again, I could never figure out my ex-wife either.
Look for a manufacturer, that will, at least, give you a direction to start looking. (See your quote about "wanderers".)
If that fails, be creative:
Look in the phone book for used office furniture, they might be able to help.
Have a beer and not worry about someone else's office equipment.

;) thanks, I'll have to take a peek at that.
 okay, this part I can do... I'm not so much worried about their office equipment as I am my pants. It is kind of close quarters down there, and at least once a month I rip a hole in the leg of my pants while using these darned things. I don't get a clothing allowance in this job...

There is the option of going pantless....
If you turn up zip searching I found the little plastic corner guards at Home Depot......

I think I already have a hard enough time getting respect around here... thanks for the suggestion, though. ;)

They sell them in NYC. They have several places where you can buy used office equipment and I'm sure they might have some extra handles. I'm not sure the name of the store off hand. I will try to find out for you and maybe they can mail it to you.

Wear shorts, your legs will heal, pants don't!
Ask (demand) for nicer space too! Remember, you are OSHA's eyes and ears!
