Hi!

We've brought a rather complex model from Revit, now .dxf into ecotect. We're trying to simplify the model best we can. In doing so, it's rather complicated in selecting and navigating in such a large model.

Does anyone have suggestions on filtering/selecting certain types of objects, this would be separate than isolating zones. I would like to eliminate some information...

Thanks!

Nick

Did you try exporting as a GBXML first to Ecotect? This will simplify the model. You can then DXF out any other items that did not read through in the GBXML format.

Also make sure anything not relevant is not exported from the Revit model.

I have also found exporting FBX to max then saving out as a 3ds creates a more user friendly model then Revit.

Also get rid of stairs or simplify them in max or CAD. they are sat/dwf heavy and cause files sizes to spike.
