Mood interior rendering

Interior rendering to show the client the effect of the top windows on light
no "materials" applied to keep it simple for me and the client (less distraction)
All accurender no image editing

Any way to fix up the gradients? I think you have a good start to the image but the shadows could use work.. ie gradients to much banding.

Did you use radiosity or just a straight raytrace?

The banding is a problem I couldn't solve. Or banding and "evenly" spread light or vice versa.

yep tried Radiosity (not an exact science in my experience a lot of trial and error)
attached some settings
Lighting: sun and all daylight sources

If you do Radiosity first then after it's finished you Raytrace, then the banding should look better.

One thing to check when you Radiate is how much residual light is left.(on the Options toolbar)

It goes from 1.0 and down. You can click on continue and it will take the Radiosity further.
If your first one is grateer than .5, then at least try to get it under .2
