Why does this happen and how do you fix it?

Some time when I am creating a corridor (or a a grading object) that has a link slope to surface sub assembly, the project in one (or two or three or etc) will project out 100's of feet away instead of where is is suppose to. I have attatched a screen shot of what I am talking. Any help would be great.

Turn your target surface on. If it doesnt reach the target surface you could end up with somthing like that. Alternativley your featurline elevations at the top ther could be messed up.
