I can not open file opening a dialog boxes in what ever order without autocad haning.
If I start autocad and use the command loadcui, and push the browse button, it will hang.
But if I prior to the loadcui command have used qsave or open, it works as supposed and the browsing dialog turns up.
What can be the problem?
I am using windows 7 x64.

You may need to give more info.
AFAIK, v2011 doesn't ship with a "loadcui" command. Do you mean "cui"?
What happen if you enter "layerstate"? Does the "Layer State Manger" dialog pup-up?

I meant cuiload. The cuiload dialog works fine, but I can not push the browse button.
I can open the layer state manager, but If i push the import button it hangs.
But if I have used open or qsave first, it works. It is as if something that is needed is loaded when using qsave or open, but not when using file browsing dialogs from within another dialog like cuiload or the layer state manager.

I'm having a similar issue with AutoCAD 2010. The filedia = 1 and cmddia = 1, but none of the dialogue boxes will open when I try commands (either from the menus or from typing the command in the commandline).
My AutoCAD is integrated with Bentley's projectwise, and the projectwise dialogue box with open correctly, but when I try to "open from disk". The box won't be there. It will show the ~ as though it's trying to run the command and I can enter the name of a drawing into an invisible window and it will accept it if the drawing is there, or if it's not, it will tell me that there is no drawing to be found.
I have no idea what's going on here, but I suspect it has something to do with the Projectwise integration, but any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

Apparently it won't allow me to edit my last post with a new user name, so I'll just reply. After talking with someone who'd had a similar problem, my issue turned out to be a monitor change issue. I had swapped out a monitor for another one (using dual monitor setup) and AutoCAD thought the monitors were swapped in position, so the dialog boxes were off the screen. Quick tip I didn't know to fix this.
Hit Alt+Spacebar (this will bring up a windows drop down) Click move (do not use the mouse to try and move the boxes) Use the arrow keys to move the grey box onto the visible screen and viola! You have your boxes back.

The problem is said to be solved in autocad 2012 sp 1.

Where is this documented?
I don't see it in the readme.

I do not know.
This was what I was told, but the problem and solution was for autocad and verticals.
"Dear Anders Lageras,
Thanks for getting back to us.
I have done some additional research and found a very similar issue to the one you are reporting has allready been handled by our development team. This will be adressed in the upcoming Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD Architecture.
This is not yet available but should be published soon - you will get an automatic notification when starting AutoCAD Architecture 2012 once the Service Pack 1 is available.
I hope this helps - please get back to us in case of any additional requirements or if the Service Pack does not resolve the issue for you.
Best regards,
Holger Kloecker

It says Architecture, which has not yet been released. It doesnt appear to be something that was resolved in the vanilla version of the service pack.
