Masking surfaces and results in Xref

I have a surface that I have applied a mask to the outside. It looks great in my Surface drawing.

I have my surface drawing xrefed into my base drawing, and it still looks great.

My base is xrefed into all of my sheets, but the mask is no longer in place.

Thoughts?

OK. I figured out part of my issue. Apparently, the surface mask is placed on whatever layer the object that you use as the mask boundary is on. So, that layer was on in my surface and base drawings, but off in my sheet drawing.

But, I have to have that layer off in my sheet drawing, as there are other things on it.


NEW QUESTION: Is there a way to select and change the layer of the mask. I don't see the mask in the surface style either.
