This is just a quick exercise in producing a video tutorial, using the recent thread “ Roof 2 Piece (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?p=77716#post77716) “ as an example.
It’s a .WMV file and is just animation capture without dialogue or text callouts.
Let me know if this type of thing is useful and we can look at producing more. Suggestions on future content of these video tutorials would also be welcome.
Thanks for video!. A picture is worth, etc. I can think of a few topics that I thought were challenging when I first started using Revit. The main one was view range and plan regions. I'm not sure if a video would be able to clarify things. :-)

Brilliant to do this BG & I would love to see more
To give some feedback ~ I had viewing problems in both Windows Media & Real Player My problem seems to be in viewer control
resolution of screen fuzzy could not read text & so subtleties of where the pointer goes to goes amiss
Otherwise really good info & method ~ I don't miss the sound ... anyway the way you guys speak profanities when something goes wrong would wreck my delicate sensibility .. so maybe best without sound for a while
Many Thanks
Roger

Thanks for the feedback Roger, that's very helpful.
I had the screen resolution up high for that to test it, I may try a lesser setting next time to see if that helps.
I would have thought Windows Media would have done OK with it though.
Yes, the profanities would rule out sound, unless AUGI's auto censor can be used for that too. In any case, my Aussie accent is probably almost as unintelligible as your Welsh one. :p .

What is this? Old home week for people with funny accents and a proliferation of sheep?

I thought that was really great too Beegee - better than some tutorials 'cos it doesn't labour all the really simple things!!! A nice concise demonstration of what can be done.
The text all looked fairly readable to me, could be a little clearer but then perhaps Roger lost his specs ;-)

PS Gotta say as a Kiwi living in the UK for 6+ years now, even the Aussie accent is starting to sound normal to me! :?

Absolutely! I've begun using these with Blender [http://www.blender.org] and they are a blessing! Being able to see the full range of motion -- ie. the second-nature, seemingly inconsequential baby-steps between the "major" commands -- is a huge help for newbies.
BTW, what's your ware of choice for video screen-capture?

BeeGee,
I find this type of tutorial EXTREMELY enlightening. Like my Dad used to say to me, "Watch and Learn".
Thank you for your efforts.
