View Full Version : Tag Label Problem

I have a user that some how has inserted a line tag label. Then the line and tag has been removed. Now when inserting a table it still has the information stored for the line tag labels. I have deleted everything out of the drawing, purged the drawing and I can still insert a line table that shows the lines that were tagged once before but they don't show the label name. I also tried to start a new drawing, tried to insert table and it said no labels, which I expected. Then I inserted the original drawing into this one without exploding it. I then tried to bring in a table and it brought in the table with the labels I don't want. Does any one know how to delete all references to any unlabeled tags in a drawing.
Thanks

Delete is an Autocad command and is not the same as the
Labels>>Delete Labels or Labels>Edit Tables>Delete Tables commands.
Are these the ones you used or the Autocad DELETE command?
Or am I missing something....
You could most likely clean it up with a MAP query and limit the
Object types you include in your query statement

I realize that the acad and LDD commands are different. But usually when you delete the tag with an acad erase it does not show up in the table when redrawn. Some how in this case the label name goes away but the definition is still there for the tag. I have gone far enough to erase every object in the drawing and still have the problem. There is no line or labels or anything else left. All blocks are purged except for the ADCADD_ZZ block and I've even redefined it to make sure it isn't holding something in it. It's almost like there has to be an external file that holds information for the line tags.

perhaps post a copy of an empty drawing that STILL
displays the table or tagged line elements.
Or forward to me.

OK,
Here is what we did in the lab.
We opened the TEST file sent by the user.
It of course prompted me to establish a Project for it.
That done I ran through a few Label commands like
delete and delete table, those failed.
Interestingly enough an Insert table operation worked.
I then went and used the Update All labels command
and those mystery tag labels were all snapped to 0,0.
Delete all 52 entries that you find there and all will be well.
Caution should be taken when applying Tags in the future.

That worked. Thanks.

Hey, thanks. You just cleared up a completely unrelated issue that had me confused. I had one drawing that ended up with a bunch of text at 0,0, and I couldn't for the life of me explain how it had happened. Now I have a possible explanation.
