How come my rectangular gird curtain panels install in my subdivided surfaces with this inexplicable angle?

I am finding the same exact issue in my projects. Did you reach any conclusions.

Could either of your upload your files? I've seen that happen, too, and it was usually a problem with the way I built the component (ie - the form I created wasn't flexing with the adaptive points in the way I thought they should).

Very basic panel. Simple geometry. What is going on? I would love to be able to have a panel which has a reveal with parameter. This was my attempt at doing this, though the reveal isnt parameterized.

You'll notice it doesn't flex in the family editor thats why. Change your pattern to 2 x2 and you'll see it doesn't move with it. You need to constrain the location of the panel, then it will work fine.

Nevermind, its not that simple. this is really odd.

Ok
So here is the only way I could get it to work.
1. Make the panel with the original 4 ref. lines(sett thickness parameter)
2. Add a point on one of teh 4 original lines
3. draw a ref. rectangle(dimension for reveal and thickness
4. Create Void sweep
Load panel.

I haven't had a chance to play with it (only have 2011 on this computer), but another way to do it--rather than a void--would be to add points inbound of the adaptive points. Dimension them to each adjacent reference line. The dimension can be set as a parameter. Then add reference lines (make sure 3D snap is on) joining the inner points. Drag each adaptive point around to make sure the inner rectangle flexes with the outer one. Create a form from this inner rectangle of reference lines and you're all set.
Attached is a version I did as a test.
