Might I suggest doing a search of these forums for CAD Standards. You will find that there are already many suggestions regarding CAD Standards here already.
Here are a few to get you started
CAD Standards (http://http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=5269)
Starting Up a New CAD Management System (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=8417&highlight=Standards)
Hope that helps

What field do you work in? Does your company have any standards currently in place? Do you have any idea of what you need to standardize within the office and what you want to accomplish with your standards? And please dont take my last sentence to be sarcastic or anything, its not meant to be. I'm just trying to get a better idea of what youre trying to accomplish and standardize.

Come up with something that describes what general pictorals and notes need to be on your drawings. I have wrote a procedure/work instruction for everything created in my department. Just make sure your procedures list everything as being "prefered but not required", "comparable to the following", or "substitute applicable as required". That way you can adjust drawings as necessary and still meet the drawing standards. With a good set of standards you should be able to hire someone off the street and put them straight to work with little training.

How about begining with reseraching the National CAD Standards? It is a breat base for you to begin establishing standards.
