To everyone out there involved in Building Design documents;

I don't know if I am just "old school", but I'd like to get some feedback from some of you. My senior Engineer want to change our plan set numbering sequence (A, S, M, E) by replacing the "A" series (architectural) with a "B". The Architects' Society in our area have a concern regarding engineering firms labeling plan sets with an "A" (I do see their point). My solution was to remove the "A" and place floor plans under the structural (S) series. Has anyone used alternate letter designations for building plan sets?

A little confused here. Are the 'A' drawings architectural or not? What do they show? Were they designed by an architect? If so I don't see why you couldn't use the 'A' . If not then yeah I'd go with the 'S' for structural or use 'B' for building design if there is some reason you need to keep the two separate.
