when inserting a 3D-Block while some UCS is active AutoCad (2005) is placing the Block in UCS when you preset the coordinates, scale and rotation in th INSERT dialog window -
but if you rather want to choose the insertion angle in ModelSpace while inserting (using OSNAP or whatever) AutoCad places the Block in WCS even though i nerver changed the active Coordinate System

in other words:
if i set either one of the check boxes in the INSERT dialog window like "set angle on display" (i run the german version of autocad so i dont't know the english words there - but analogously to that) AutoCad alway inserts the Blocks in World CoordinateSystem even though it should in the active UserCoordinateSystem

is this a feature or a bug ... ?

if its a feature ... what purpose has it been designed for ????

not sure this will help....
I try to set my UCS Origin to where I want the block insertion point to be....
using `3 point UCS' or `UCS Origin'.....and if I get the rotation wrong ....
.I just flip the X Y, or Z (using the right hand rule)
and then just rotate the block....

good luck
