I've been wondering about Fast Tracking. The firm I work with uses fast tracking for a lot of it's work, but this is used in conjunction with an AutoCAD approach.

With BIM we want to focus on a finalizing the perfect model before it heads to construction (Clash detection). With fast tracking, the approach looks like you design a level then build it as you are designing the level above (assumption). How do we achieve this with BIM?

Personally, by the sound of it, Fastracking need not be a part of the process as a well coordinated BIM project in design will erect more easily in construction (In theory), thus it could be achieved in roughly the same time as the "fast-tracked" schedule.

Should we be eliminating fast tracking in the BIM environment?
