Class Description: How many hours have you spent hunched over a digitizing board converting old paper drawings into AutoCAD® drawing files? With the tools provided in Autodesk® Raster Design software, you may never need your digitizing board again! In this lab, we’ll look at some of the techniques used for scanning paper drawings and converting those scans into usable vector files. Topics include scanning, heads-up digitizing, and automatic line following. You’ll also learn how to use the tools to convert text within a scanned image to AutoCAD text entities, and how to extract this information for use in word processing and spreadsheet programs.
