Instructors: David Garrigues with Glen Albert and Chris Putnam

Class Description: Grab a Venti Mocha or a Red Bull; you’re going to need it to keep up! This high-octane class is led by David Garrigues (Mr. Caffeine) of Kimley-Horn, Glen Albert (Mr. Feature Line) and Chris Putnam (Mr. Grading), the lead programmers from Autodesk on all things grading. The first part of the class explores the ins-and-outs of how Surfaces and Feature Lines actually work. After a firm understanding of the surface object model we will get into Feature Line creation and editing commands, and the 20+ tools associated with them. We will then take a comprehensive look at Grading Groups and explore Grading Criteria and how to create, edit and manage actual grading projection items. We will take a look at some of the most commonly used scenarios and, most importantly, those pesky problem areas. Other stimulating topics include Surface Smoothing and how to properly use Infills. High energy and real-world examples made this one of the top-ranked classes two years running.
