1st wish: (probably more to follow as I wade my way through CAD LT :) )


Description: txt2mtext - in AutoCAD LT 2015
How Used: Working on much older CAD/other versions. Very time consuming and frustrating :( :( when editing.

Feature Affinity: Single line text for long paragraphs and notes is difficult to control when moving or editing.

I am surprised that the txt2mtext function does not feature in LT, as I found CHSPACE (thank goodness), which I also use very often.

Don't be too surprised. In the 21 year history of AutoCAD LT (http://www.fourmilab.ch/autofile/www/section2_107_1.html#SECTION001071000000000000000), it's never been there. TXT2MTXT is an old "Bonus" tool, later called Express Tool for AutoCAD and verticals. Those were never made available (nor would they work) with AutoCAD LT.
That is sort of like saying "I don't know why [feature X in Microstation] is not in AutoCAD"

CHSPACE also used to be a Bonus/Express tool, but it was rolled into the core program for the 2007 version I believe.

Maybe they will roll TXT2MTXT into the core someday.

Unfortunately, there is no point in wishing that all the tools YOU used in full acad were in lt.
There would soon be NO lt version.

Sad but true.
