Here's nice tip that's been useful to me:
Type ddedit at the command prompt. Select the dimension you want the text to be added.
After the <> add \X and then the text you want to show under the dimension line (with no spaces between the three elements). For example: <>\XMaximum length.
The X must be uppercase (it doesn't work being a lowercase x).

You can also under line with \L you can have line upon line of text with \P ie. top\Pseconed\Pthird

Cool tip. I have a use for it right now.
I added it to one of my dimension styles as part the primary units suffix.
