Good renderings - especially very believable view out the windows there... is it a real photograph used as a decal?

I agree with Elrond, the image through the window looks good, even a little faded to give a good perception of depth.

The images are good, and really close to being great. I would try to finish them off with some more detailed objects scattered around (books, plates etc, curtains even!), putting on some detail to the door (handle etc), and perhaps trying a slightly different view, something a little more unusual, perhaps a little lower?

The materials are really good and strong, but I am confused as to where the lighting is coming from in the first image.

I don't mean to seem critical, hopefully more constructive. If you get a chance, I'd love to see what you could achieve with these images.

Good luck,

Max.

Thanks for the kind words.

The image is of the "Highlands Golf Course" club house which is situated in this
Adult Lifestyle Community subdivision here in the Niagara Region near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, which I acted as project manager during construction.

It is placed in the rendering through the rendering scene settings, Environment, Advanced, Background Images.

Thanks for the info about the editing but I was really trying to build up my post numbers. ;)

Hey there JTF,

A little on the "off topic" side:

Nice renderings by the way. In the future however, if you want to edit your post without posting another one, simply click on the "edit" button in your original post and scroll down to the edit window. You can give a reason for the edit if you wish too. Saves multiple posts. (Steve mentioned this in one of the forums earlier.)

Good luck and keep 'em coming.
Steve

(edit by SD: also did a little creative editing, fixed "words" and deleted the superfluous posts)

Max, the light I used is from about 5 ceiling lights placed in a row just out of view from the camera.

I had run thru different setups and what I found or had problems with are the following:

1. Sun on created blue sky reflections in the mirrors even though I made sure I had the room completely enclosed and deleted all windows in the room.(So the sun is turned off in the first image)

2. Even still, if you look closely at the reflections in the mirror they are from other rooms in the house, still can't figure this one out.

3. I finally went back to the tutorial about interior renderings and followed the example exactly and ended up with what you see in the first image.

4. I also did one where I modeled/created a mirror and the reflection is of the room only, which is what I would want but I need to now model every detail as it looks boring as you had mentioned about not much detail as the dining room image.
