Class Description: This class kicks off to show how easy it is to quickly build, deploy, and test the building blocks (called activities) of a workflow using Microsoft® Visual Studio® Workflow Foundation (WF) project templates. The class briefly introduces the core concepts and service-oriented architecture (SOA) behind Windows Workflow Foundation and then exposes all the nitty-gritty details about how to develop activities using different workflow authoring modes. It continuously and gradually builds simplest to more complicated activities and their display, editing, and runtime characteristics using the SOA model. The class introduces all the major types available in the Map 3D Workflow Framework API and demonstrates the plug-and-play architecture. It also talks about how to fine-tune, customize, or completely take over how the activities appear, display the properties, and behave on the Map Workflow Designer canvas. The class shows how to provide a powerful UI using WPF in an activity. Finally, it provides tips and guidelines on things to watch out for and tricks that help reap more benefits out of activity development.
