Title: Understanding and Mastering Metric and Imperial in AutoCAD® and Revit®

Instructor: Cord Struckmann

Course Description: The world is getting smaller—everywhere. For many AEC offices, it is common to work on projects throughout the world. Some are measured in inches and feet, and some are located in countries that think in meters. The average user is expected to master both systems, imperial and metric. In both Revit and AutoCAD, understanding the underlying concepts and knowing the few critical settings prevents most common problems. It also allows you to take advantage of the not-so-obvious compatibility between the system and the programs. This class explains how AutoCAD and Revit differentiate between imperial and metric, what to watch out for when annotating and printing drawings, and how to maintain one integrated software system with minimal doubling of efforts. In the end, your bathroom fixtures might be German, your tiles Italian. And have the people measuring in millimeters ever wondered why their plywood is 19 millimeters thick?
