Title: Roundabout: Crosses to Circles

Instructor: Luis Garcia

Course Description: Statistically, roundabouts are safer for drivers and pedestrians than both traffic circles and traditional intersections. According to a study of roundabouts in the United States, when compared with the junctions they replaced, there were 40% fewer vehicle collisions, 80% fewer injuries, and 90% fewer serious injuries and fatalities. The capacity of a roundabout is based on several variables including the number of entry and circulating lanes, as well as subtle geometric elements, such as entry angle and lane width. In this class, we will focus on good planning practices that can be deployed to design a safe, high-performance roundabout. Join us to learn how to achieve great roundabout designs, and at the same time save precious development and testing time.
