Title: Designing for Vehicle Movements with Confidence

Instructor: Billy Chan

Course Description: Have you ever gotten stuck in a project trying to design the space needed for a truck turn at an intersection, a roundabout, a loading bay, a multi-modal facility, or any other development site? Architects and transportation designers are constantly challenged to find the most effective and safe designs. Possible design scenarios may seem endless and confusing. So how do you deal with such situations effectively? Through a series of different design examples, you will learn how to use AutoTURN®, a leading vehicle simulation software product, to develop designs that accommodate the various vehicle types and maneuvers. From selecting the right design vehicle to understanding how best to address your design challenge, you will, through these design examples, learn the key thinking process and software use—key factors to developing good design solutions. You can then easily apply this learning to develop effective solutions to any such projects.
