Text Height Configuration - Scale

I wanted to know if somebody have a spreadsheet indicating the appropriate text height to set up according to the scale desired to plot the drawing / floor plan...

Usually text for notation is 0.1 inch high multiplied by the scale of the drawing which is ususally 48 (1/4" = 1'-0") or 96 (1/8" = 1'-0") so the text heights are 4.8 for 1/4" and 9.6 for 1/8".

Peter Jamtgaard The old hand-drafting standard I've always heard was 1/8" high text in paper space. Using the same formula, that translates to 3" in 1/2", 6" in 1/4", etc. The new standard is either 0.1" as Peter mentioned, or 3/32" (0.09375"), which would be 2.25" for 1/2", 4.5" for 1/4" and 9" for 1/8" scale. If I recall correctly, the National CAD Standard doesn't specify a particular height, but says that 3/32" is the minimum for CAD drawings and 1/8" for hand-drafting.

All this information is the same on a CadCARD. You can pick one up at any college or tech school book store for around $13.

It is a life saver. It tells you any information you would like to know according to the scale you are at such as the text height for each Paper Space size, the scale factor, inverse multiplier, etc.
