Does anybody know if LDT 2006 is shipping yet? The last I heard it was supposedly going to ship towards the end of April (which is now). We are planning to upgrade to it (we skipped 2005) as soon as it arrives, so I was just trying to work it into my schedule when I would be upgrading everyone's computers.

Contact your reseller, they should be able to tell you when it is shipping. From looking at Autodesks website, it looks like it is shipping, but hard to be sure

I'm still waiting also. Did they ship it by pony express?

AutoCAD shipping is odd in itself, I have two subscriptions and here is what I got this week: 3 days ago I received 2 boxes, both contained Raster Design. 2 days ago I received 2 more boxes, both contained Survey. Yesterday I received 1 box that contained civil 3d, and today I received 3 boxes, 1 contained my 2nd civil 3d, the other 2 were civil 3d - civil design companion.
I think that is all of them. If you haven't received yours, you should be getting them soon. I'll be installing mine next week, if any of you have tips or twists, post 'em so others can learn. I'll be doing the same.
Thanks All

Same with me. I've received Civil 3D 2006, Civil 3D - Civil Design Companion 2006 and Survey 2006, all on seperate days. They're shipping bill must be enormous.
Here's my question. On the Civil 3D 2006 readme page included in the cd case, it says "You cannot install Autodesk Civil 3D - Land Desktop Companion and a full commercial license of Autodesk Land Desktop on the same computer". Does this mean I should still be receiving the regular LDD product in the mail. I assume so, but since I haven't purchased Civil 3D, it made me wonder if it had taken the place of LDD this year.

I'm trying to figure that out as well mfowler. I went ahead and installed it and it seems like it IS LDD. The only problem I'm having is getting the menus to load. In 2005, when I type in MLD, MLC, MCD, MSV, or MMP at the command line, my menus would change. In 2006, when I type any of those, I get an error message saying "Menu palette file not found". So, I'm not sure yet if it was a bad install, or if I have to copy my 2005 menu palette files over, or if it isn't supposed to be installed.
The latter to me just doesn't sound right. Why would they send out all those copies of the LDD Companion, if only a select few could install it on their computer/network?
Thanks

I kinda sorta think the LDD Companion provides the functionality of LDD within the GUI of Civil 3D. If so, it would make sense to use that instead of full LDD 06 if I was comfortable with it. Not being comfortable with it, I guess I'll have to use the two seperate packages.

Also, are those commands you talked about actual LDD commands or are they shortcuts or aliases? If the latter, you'll have to add them in manually. I'm sure you know this.

Just received mine copy this week 2 boxes on Mon., 1 on Tues. & 1 Today. What a delivery system.

Regarding the commands I wrote about, they are actual commands in LDD and are noted in the help system. Also, if they weren't recognized in 2006, I would get a command line message stating they were unrecognized. But because I am receiving a pop-up error message (sorry, forgot to mention it was a pop-up), that tells me the commands are recognized, but the menus aren't were they should be.
Thanks

RobertW,
Have you gone through the CUI to set up your menues? I have always avoided Porting portions of a previous release over to a later version. It only takes a few minutes and the end result is almost always less headaches than trying to migrate it over.

I've had very little time thus far to actually get deep into the CUI, but I have looked through it. Even after opening the CivilDesign.cui, Land.cui, and Survey.cui my menus aren't populated correctly, and I still cant use MLD, MLC, MCD, MSV, or MMP like I was able to in 2005.
Seems like we've left the shipping tangent. How'd that happen? lol
Thanks

Have you copied your menupalettes into your Doc nSettings\Profname\appdata\autodesk\r17?\enu\support\ folder? Open your user preferences and check the path that LDT is looking at for the menupalettes and copy yours to this folder to see if that helps.

I must have seriously been over analyzing that. I don't know why I didn't think to look there. I'll give it a look a little later.
Thanks
