Web server based dwg conversion

We are looking for a web based software that would reside on the web server (Microsoft IIS) that would provide server side conversion of of dwg to some other format, the goal is to not send dwg files everywhere and everyone, keep it secure.

Does anyone have any recomendations.

Is it not as simple as converting drawings to PDF`s before sending them ?

I'm looking into something similar. We use a document management system, so it should be easy for our supplier of that system to write a script for us to automatically convert a dwg to dwf on check-in of the modified drawings. The idea being to make the dwgs the working files just for the Design Office (and keep an audit trail for modifications) and the dwfs would be used for viewing/printing from site (or 3rd parties that have access). I believe DWFs are the way to go for web enabled apps. as anyone can view these with the free download of DWF Viewer from AutoDesk.
