I think I have the trick of TP's down. I have created the following structure on my network for all to access.
X:\<common>
X:\<common>\toolpalette
Under this I have all my TP groups, i.e. Title_Block, Tags, Structural Shapes, etc.
under each of these folders I have the *.atc files and image folder. In my cui file I have a button switch that will point to each of these groups for what ever part some one is working on.

My question is what do you have to do to create an ATC file. Some are created and some are not. I have a complete TP that has all the palettes in it. from this I create my groups. When I create a new palette sometimes it creates an ATC file and sometimes not. My guess it is stored in the ACTPCATALOG.ATC file in my root toolpalette folder. How do I get it out of there so I can copy it to my groups folder.

Without the ATC file being in my groups folder, when I switch to that palette the grop will not show up. I can import the xtp file but when I switch back to another and back again it is gone and have to re-import the xtp file.

I am at a loss. Any suggestions. I have tried reading all your post and have fired off the question to subsscription support.

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

Just a quick note to let you know I have moved this post from the AutoCAD Customization forum to this one, as it is better served here.

Thanks!

Edit: I reread the thread and realized I made a mistake by moving it...I will move it back with my appologies.

Hi

Have you tried the links found in this (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=10435) thread...

Have a good one, Mike

Thanks, I figured it out.

Its all in the order things are done.

1. Create a folder on the network for your palette group.
2. Point paleette pointer there.
3. Create new palette not using the one that is auto created when the group is first created in 2006
4. Import appro. xtp files to that group.
5. save bogus dwg.
6. Close bogus drawing not AutoCad.
7. Open new drawing
8. test
9. Del. New palette (blank one you did not use)
10. Start all over for next group.

When doing this this will create a Palettes folder under your group folder and a AcTpCatalog.atc for that group. This is the primary atc file for the palettes. All other atc files are under the palettes sub folder.

Hope this helps anyone out who are trying to create button switches to flip between palettes.

Steve,

You are doing what I have been trying to do for a while. Is there any way you could go into a little more detail in regards to the steps starting with the button switch in the cui.

Thanks
