All of my curve labels seem to be bylayer on the screen but when I plot preview it's as if they're taking on layer "0" characteristics...ie, they're plotting bold using color 7 but they're displaying color 191. All of my parcel curve label settings are set to "bylayer". Any ideas???

How do you have your Styles set up. Bylayer or Hard coded colors?

Is it possible that you've got two sets of labels in the same place? Sometimes things don't display in correct plotting order, although send to back and regen should show it up straight away. But I don't think you can send one label to back as there's no way to select just the label.

Hope that makes some sense.

What exactly do you mean by "bold" Fatter line weight? Bold/wrong font? Black vs Screened?

And, is your line weight controlled by layer or color?

Check your label style for line width settings that may be overriding your intended line weight, and be sure to bore all the way to the bottom style settings. (into the text formatting)

Colors 1-10 are controlled by color;
colors 11-255 are controlled by layer.

I have a layer called S3-P-CRV_LBL; color 191; lineweight=default. This layer is specified as the default layer in my curve label style. When I plot, the curve labels are real thick as if they are taking on layer "0" properties (color 7...which is our boldest lineweight). I changed layer "0" to red (our lightest pen weight), and the curve labels still displayed color 191 in the dwg editor, but when plotted they took on pen 1 lineweight.

It has to be something in the style settings because I have separate layer for my line labels that also uses color 191 & they come out fine.

I just figured it out...
Under label Style Composer--> allow curved text=false, then it previews correctly by taking on the appropriate layer properties. When allow curved text=true, then the label in the preview turns to color 7 which is our boldest lineweight.

Thanks for your help!
