View Full Version : stretching a line after rotation

Hi everyone,

I created a round callout tag with a line going to the left with a linear parameter and a rotation parameter, I also gave it a stretch action and a rotate action that is place with the correct parameter.

(See Top Tag)

The line stretches and rotates OK

(See Middle Tag)

The problem is when I try to stretch it after I have rotated it away from the starting point from where the line was defined.

 If I stretch it after I have rotated it, the line goes in the opposite direction.

(See Bottom Tag)

What you are trying to do is possible with the linear and rotation. But to save you're self a lot of hassle and frustration. Scrap those and throw in a Polar Parameter. The polar parameter will allow you to Stretch and Rotate objects based on either the stretch or Rotate action. Take a look at the attached block. Might help you out.

Mark,

Thanks very much for your help and the block. I changed my block to use the Polar Parameter and it works great

However, I still would like to have the rotation parameter so I can set the increments of the rotation, if any one can help me I would be very grateful.

Thanks again

Kyle C.

Did you check out the Angle options for Incriment on the Polar? I think you can get the little incriment marks by modifying it from the properties palette?

Hope that helps!!
